Below is a means of identifying areas that you feel you need to raise your understanding and skills in. Most individuals have skills that can be classified as an awareness (A), knowledge (K), capability (C) or expertise (E) in most areas of project management. By simply ticking (3) the level of skill that you feel you have will be a most useful start to the development of skills transfer training programmes. For more details on each skill level click on the relevant letter above. When indicating your perceived skill level it is better to be on the conservative side and don't over-estimate your level of ability.

A, K, C and E can be briefly explained as follows:-

A - means that the individual is likely to be aware of the subject (or the project
management area) but would not fully know what it means nor could they define it.

K - means that the individual has a knowledge of the subject, would be able to
define it and explain what it is to someone else.

C - means that the individual would be able to define the subject and basically
apply its use to a project but would not be able to see the broader application or train other staff.

E - means that the individual would have a high ability in the use of the subject,
be seen as being an expert, and would have the ability to mentor and train other staff in the subject or knowledge area.
