iPM can undertake the total life cycle management of a project from conception of an idea or need through to the commissioning and hand-over of the completed facility. Using procedures that have been developed and updated over a period of over thirty years hands-on experience the iPM professional team, either integrated with an owner's team or as a stand-alone entity, can manage any size and complexity of project.

Project support is provided through a broad range of mechanisms. A PSO can be established within a client's premises as an integral part of a client's operations to offer strategic advice, develop management procedures, provide a daily advice help-line, and facilitate project personnel training. An owner of capital projects who seeks to supplement the organisation with an external expertise that is needed to create operational change commonly uses this approach.

Public and in-house training is provided to project personnel as part of their continuing professional development and as a means of achieving certification status as a project manager. In-house courses are designed to meet an organisations need and can range from 1 day awareness programmes to 8 day skills and expertise transfer programmes. Public courses are advertised from time to time and held in different European locations.
